NAVIGATOR SHIPPING CONSULTANTS AT POSIDONIA 2022

Navigator Shipping Consultants participated in the Posidonia Exhibition 2022 with an eye-catching stand, inspired by a vessel’s bow at Hall 2, No. 2.228.
Our stand was shared with our members and co-exhibitors FOSS Maritime, Moran Towing Corporation, Fairplay Towage Group, Multraship Towage & Salvage, Port Flot Burgas, GBS Shipping Agency and Universal Shipping Agency.

During the exhibition many meetings with Ship-owning and Ship-management companies took place at our stand, where we examined cooperation prospects, while our co-exhibitors had the chance to meet and discuss with Decision Makers and renowned Shipping Executives.

One of the highlights of the Posidonia week was to meet the Board of Directors of the Union of Greek Shipowners and the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping at our booth during the Exhibition! Posidonia Exhibition runs under the auspices of the UGS and the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and we sincerely thank them for their support and their precious offerings to the Greek Maritime industry.

Various events, parties and receptions were organised by Greek-based Shipping Companies and not only, on the occasion of the Posidonia Exhibition. We were invited to and attended many of them!

Sunday, 05 June 2022 was the day of the Posidonia Running Event. Danae Bezantakou along with volunteers of YES Forum ran 5 km at Piraeus, one day before the opening of the Posidonia Exhibition 2022.

With an emotional touch, the most successful Posidonia exhibition so far, came to an end, with the organization of YES to Shipping Forum 2022 on Friday 10 June 2022, which was honored by the presence of the President of the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS), Ms. Melina Travlos and owner of Neptune Lines Shipping & Managing Enterprises, the former President of the UGS and owner of Golden Union Shipping, Mr. Theodoros Veniamis, the President of the Exhibition, Mr. Themis Vokos, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Ioannis Plakiotakis and the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Ms. Niki Kerameus.

Due to the pandemic-induced cancellation of the 2020 event, Posidonia 2022 was the first Posidonia experience for many students. Taking that into consideration, YES to Shipping Forum 2022 was designed to benefit the participants to the fullest, providing them with the opportunity to meet various shipping companies and discuss with maritime executives.

In the first part, the young attendees visited more than 30 booths of the exhibition, under the guidance of one of the 50 volunteers of YES (Young Shipping Executives) Forum for each group. This way, in addition to learning about the subject and activity of the companies, they also had the opportunity to give their CV directly to executives of these companies, thereby increasing their chances of working in the shipping sector.

In the second part, all participants gathered in Posidonia Conference Hall and had the honor to hear the thoughts and advice of successful people from the industry. The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Ioannis Plakiotakis and the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Ms. Niki Kerameus, also spoke to the new generation.

The speeches were followed by a special tribute and an award ceremony from 13 students to Mr. Theodoros Veniamis for the 13 years of his presidency at the UGS.

He stressed that “young people should have dreams. But if you dream of working and offering in shipping, in any country, yes, you must love and be in love with shipping “.

“If you are devoted to shipping, you will progress,” said Mr. Veniamis

In the third and final part, the participants were able to talk directly with 65 executives of shipping companies, asking them questions, and listening to what they had to share with them, from their many years of experience.
