Jason Scholey
Admiralty Product Manager, United Kingdom Hydrographic Office

Jason Scholey has a BA in Mathematics from Cambridge University, and joined the UKHO in 1993 as a Graduate Trainee. After two years spent working within various Chart Branches, Jason moved to the UKHO’s project team where he was involved in the IHO’s development of S-57 and the ENC Product Specification. Jason then worked as a member of the UKHO team responsible for the development of the UKHO’s first ENC production flowline, including the delivery of the IHO’s ENC test datasets.

Several years as a project manager for business system developments was followed by a move to the management of commercial opportunities for the wider use of hydrographic information whereby Jason supported the UK Government, providing specialist advice during the development of policies for the wider user of hydrographic information, such as the Government’s Marine Bill.

Jason is Product Manager for AVCS (the Admiralty Vector Chart Service). Since its launch in April 2008, UKHO has been rapidly increasing ENC coverage within AVCS to ensure the trade routes between 1,795 ports worldwide are covered. It has also been continuously improving the service in direct response to customer feedback.
