Nicholas Kosmatos grew up in England where he studied Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Having obtained a Masters degree from Imperial College in London, he decided to spend a summer in Asia working in shipping. He fell in love with shipping and immediately after enrolled at Cass Business School for a M.Sc. in Shipping Trade and Finance under professor Costas Grammenos. He then joined a first class Greek shipping company as business development director firstly in London, then Stamford, Connecticut and later in Bangkok and Singapore as Managing Director where he lived for 15 years. He has extensive experience in tankers, LPG, dry bulk and offshore supply vessels and FPSOs. He has also run an Offshore Supply Base company in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2011 together with a friend, he set up Sealink Navigation Ltd and the company bought its first vessel shortly after incorporation. He lives primarily in Singapore from where he handles the commercial issues for his company. Operations are handled from their Athens office.
