Seraphim Kapros

Professor University of the Aegean.

Seraphim Kapros is Professor in the University of the Aegean at the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport. He is a Civil Engineer specialised in Transport Engineering and Planning. He received a PhD in Transportation from the “Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees” (France), after a MSc (DEA) in Transportation from the University Paris IV-Sorbonne (France). He is teaching courses on Transport Planning and Logistics. Seraphim Kapros has participated in more than 60 European and national research projects in the fields of Transport Planning, Logistics, Transport Policy, Urban and Regional Planning, Intermodal Transport and Short Sea Shipping. He is member of the “Observatory of Transport Policies and Strategies in Europe” since 1999 and founding member of the European Academic network “TRANSPORTNET”. He is also member of the Scientific Committee of the WCRTS (World Conference of Transport Research Society) and member of the “Freight and Logistics” Programme Committee of the European Transport Conference 9Association for European Transport Conference 9Association for European Transport). Seraphim Kapros was member of the “National Council for Logistics” (Greece) from 2008 to 2016 and member of the Railway Regulation Office (Greece) from 2011 to 2016. He is currently Head of Department ‘Shipping, Trade and Transport”. Finally, he has published more than eighty papers in scientific journals and international conference proceedings.
