Vassilis Korkidis

Vassilis Korkidis was born in Piraeus. He has been serving as President of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2013 and has been elected 3 times President of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, since 2009. Among others, he is Vice-President of the European Association of SMEs (UEAPME), National Member in the Board of EuroCommerce, Member of the Board of Administration of Enterprise Greece, President of the Mediterranean Committee for Industry of ASCAME and Member of the Board of the Regulatory Authority for Ports. Also, he was member in Piraeus Port Authority Board.

He graduated from Southampton University, with BSc (Honours) in Naval Architecture and Ship Science and followed postgraduate studies with Master’s degrees in Maritime Law (LL.M.) and International Commerce & Sea Transport (M.Sc.). In 2016 the Technical University of Piraeus, awarded him with the Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration. He is the owner of two commercial and marine enterprises. He expands the family business established in 1961 and in 1986 sets up “Spyros Korkidis Bros”, a ships’ supplying company in Marine Electric and Electronics equipment, as well as “K-Group Shipping Inc” in 1990. Since 2008, he is President and Managing Director of the commercial and maritime company “Korkidis S.V.E. SA.”
