MARITIME ECONOMIES-EDITORIAL FOR THE WOMEN OF INFLUENCE: DANAE’S BEZANTAKOU INTERVIEW – FEBRUARY 2018
Following her successful interview to Maritime Economies – Women of Influence in 2017, Danae’s interview regarding the role of women in Shipping was included once again this year in the Cover Page of Maritime Economies.
She underlined that in maritime sector 95% of the managerial positions are male-dominated. It is also a reality that women and men have different pros and cons as managers. Women seem to be better multi-taskers. They have to endorse several roles and force themselves to be good at all of them. Her main point is that if women work hard with love and passion, nobody (or at least not the majority) will question their capacities in the job. She also pointed out that we should not be selfish, on the contrary, just as someone taught us everything we know, we should transmit our knowledge to the next ones and give them space to evolve.
