Captain Murray graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1975, and shortly thereafter obtained his US Coast Guard Third Mates License. He worked a total of 20 years with Lykes Bros. S.S. Company, initially at sea – ultimately sailing as Master – and then in various shore-side capacities with Lykes throughout the southeastern United States. Captain Murray began his career in the tugboat industry as port manager for Turecamo Towing in Savannah, GA, and was promoted to VP Sales for Moran Towing Corporation in their Connecticut Head Office in 1999, where he continues to work today.
