H.E. Mr. Ahn Youngjip

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Hellenic Republic

H.E. AHN Youngjip is the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Hellenic Republic since 2015. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative, Korean Permanent Mission to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland in 2014. Ambassador AHN has served in various foreign posts since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987, including Counsellor in UK and Northern Ireland, Policy Director in the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) in New York, First Secretary in Nigeria, Second Secretary in the Korean Embassy in the USA.Ambassador AHN also served in different posts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs such as Director General for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs Bureau, Deputy Director General for North American Affairs Bureau, Director of Policy Planning and Coordination Division, and Director of Human Resources Management Division. Ambassador AHN received his bachelor’s degree in Seoul National University and his master’s degree in international relations in University of Pennsylvania.
