Mr. Marios P. Karnessis is the Founder and Chairman of MPK SHIPPING INC. He completed his studies as a Marine Engineer in the Academy of Merchant Navy in Aspropyrgos Greece. Having also onboard operational and technical experience, with strong knowledge gained from his MSc studies at Newcastle Upon Tyne University in Marine Engineering, a vast experience in repairs and dry-docking is reflected through the years in his maritime carrier.

With thirty years of traditional family heritage in shipping industry, next to his father Prokopis N. Karnessis, Mr. Marios P. Karnessis consists the second generation in shipping business. During 1995-2011 he has been working in the family Group of Companies European Navigation Inc, European Product Carriers, ELKA Shipping, Elinoil, etc., where he gained extensive experience in dry cargo and tanker technical sector.

In 2011, after his father passed away and following his father’s path in the establishment of European Navigation Inc in 1979, Mr. Marios P. Karnessis founded MPK SHIPPING INC., his own management company specializing in dry cargo, tanker and offshore sector. Having more than sixteen years of experience in managing vessels ranging from 20,000 to 220,000 tonnes deadweight, he has been engaged in marine and technical operations with a wide experience in ISM coordination and all fields of shipping activities related to safety and vessels’ environmental protection trade.

MPK SHIPPING INC has entered the market with dry cargo bulk carriers from first class Japanese shipyards and provides relevant transportation services of bulk and bagged commodities on a world wide basis. The company is committed to providing world-class ship management services that meet safety, environmental and customers’ requirements and conducting its operations in a manner which protects human health, safety, environment and property.
