Katerina has a total working experience of 34 years of which 30 years have been in managerial positions in the fields of Shipping and Banking. Katerina started her career in shipping in 1986 as Assistant CFO for Athenian Sea Carriers, one of the traditional and prestigious Greek shipping Groups, and continued into Banking in 1992 as Head of Shipping Finance for two Greek private Banks, responsible for setting up and developing their shipping loan portfolios. She was also a Credit Committee member of these banks.

Since 2000, Katerina has been with Investments & Finance Ltd as Executive Director. The company is a financial consultancy firm dedicated in providing financial and investment advisory services to shipping and corporate clients, with offices in Piraeus and London. The Firm’s main area of expertise is shipping and since its inception in 1987, has been involved in financial transactions raising bank debt, bonds, equity and other hybrids for various maritime clients as well as assisting in numerous restructuring and workout transactions.

Katerina is Executive Committee Member of WISTA International, active member of WISTA Hellas, member of the Greek Shipping Bankers Association, member of the International Propeller Club in Greece, member of the Advisory Board of Blue Growth and a Mentor and Board Member of iforU, a non-profit organization for the empowerment and support of young women entrepreneurs. She supports the young generation by being a Mentor to University Graduates in Greece through the Open Mind Group. This year she co-founded and organised the 1st Young Executives Shipping Forum, which took place during POSIDONIA 2016. The YES Forum is a platform of open dialogue between Young Executives and the Shipping Decision Makers. Katerina is also a Lecturer on Shipping Finance at the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and a frequently invited Speaker and Moderator in International Shipping Conferences held in Greece and abroad on Shipping Finance and General Maritime issues. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance from the University of Maryland, USA.
