R.K. Kalra joined IRS in 1989, currently serving as a Country Manager for Piraeus Survey Station overseeing European Union and surrounding regions. He has been the Country Manager for Dubai Survey Station overseeing the entire Gulf Region. His experience at IRS Head Office was as Head Quality Assurance. He also assisted Management Representative on functions for external certifications / accreditations. Apart from above he has overseen service at Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, and Kochi & Trichy.

He has completed a Marine Engineering training course from Directorate of Marine Engineering Training (DMET) and holds a First Class Certificate of Competency (Steam & Motor), issued by Ministry of Transport, Govt. of India. He has been a Lead Auditor for ISO 9000, ISO 28000, ISM Code, ISPS Code & QS 9000 etc.

His projects in IRS included survey of all types of Ships in Service Surveys & New constructions of Oil Tanker, Bulk carriers, Harbour crafts, Coasters & defense constructions to ensure Class & Flag requirement including constructions in Steel, Aluminum & FRP. He is a specialised in inspection and testing of machinery, various equipment and systems, as well as in quality assurance and safety audit.
