YES FORUM – OPEN DAY @ DANAOS SHIPPING – MARCH 2017
The 2nd Open Day of YES FORUM successfully took place at the premises of DANAOS SHIPPING in Piraeus on 2nd March 2017, aiming to the direct communication of young people studying or working in the shipping industry with already qualified executives, through an open dialogue.
Among the more than 120 participants of the Open Day, there were undergraduate and postgraduate students of Greek and foreign Universities as well as young people working or interested in working in the shipping industry.
Introductory presentation was given by Mrs. Zoe Lapa-Papamattheou, Legal Officer of DANAOS SHIPPING. Keynote speaker was Capt. Elias Ladas – DPA / Director HR & Training of DANAOS SHIPPING, who gave detailed information on the Company. He presented the historical evolution from the company’s establishment; the operation and corporate structure of the company; as well as the challenges faced by a shipping company today.
Additional presentation was given by DANAOS MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS S.A. on how aspects of shipping and information technology relate, with key speakers Dr. Panagiotis Nomikos, Business Development Director, and Mr. Dimitrios Theodosiou, CEO, and Mr. Christos Emmanouilidis, who is responsible for the business development.
